Types of Roulette Betting:
There’re several types of roulette betting strategies but each one is classified into one of the two major bets available; that is outside bets or inside bets. Below are some of the bets as they’re classified.
Outside bets
In roulette, an outside bet is a bet that simply resides ‘outside’ of the main playing area of 38 numbers. This means the possibility of winning bets for 0 or 00 results are completely eliminated. The following are a number of outside bets you should know about.
- Twelve Numbers Dozens – Dozen lets you place bets on either the first 1-12 (dozen) numbers, the second 13-24 (second dozen), or third dozen (25-36) numbers.
- Twelve Numbers Column – At one end of the sets of 38 numbers are boxes with the ‘2 to 1’ written in them. Each box is a part of a column so that, to win, the number you’ve placed your bet will have to show up. This is similar to the dozen bets described above.
- Other outside bets as far as roulette betting is concerned are: Red or Black, Low or High numbers, and Even or Odd bets. Each of these gives you the possibility of winning with roulette.
Inside bets
- One Number Straight up – some people refer to this as the simplest of all roulette bets. It requires players to place their bet on any one of the 38 numbers on the table so as to get a chance to win at 35 to 1. Looks simple but can be hard to come by sometimes.
- Two numbers Split Bet – Assuming two numbers are beside each other on a table, you can place your bet on both to result in what is referred to as a ‘split bet’. This is a bet that pays 17 to 1 if either of the number shows up. It’s done by placing your chip on the line that separates the two numbers.
Other inside bets not discussed here are: Three Numbers Street Bet, Four Numbers Corner and Six Numbers Line Bet.
The most important thing to remember is that you need a good bankroll management system and a strategy to help you know what to bet and when. Using this combination of tools, you can dramatically increase your odds of winning at the roulette table.
